An Invitation to Pause and Give Thanks
As the year turns toward Thanksgiving and the holiday season, it is easy to get swept up in busyness. This retreat offers you a dedicated day to slow down, reflect, and nurture a grateful heart.
Gratitude is more than a fleeting feeling, it is a practice that can help us meet life with steadiness and joy. Research shows that gratitude supports well-being, resilience, and deeper connection to what matters most. Together, we will explore how gratitude can become a steady, comforting presence in your daily life, no matter what challenges come your way.
What You'll Experience
This daylong retreat weaves together:
Mindfulness meditation practices including guided sitting, walking, and awareness practices
Teacher talks with reflections on gratitude and how to cultivate it in everyday life
Personal reflection and journaling with time and space to deepen awareness of life’s blessings
Nature connection practices that invite grounding and a sense of gratitude through mindful time outdoors
Group discussions with opportunities to share questions and insights in community
Quiet times that create space for inner connection and rest
Periods of silence to support stillness and deep listening. These silent times invite you to fully engage with your inner experience without the distractions of everyday conversation. Designated times for speaking and sharing will also be included.
By increasing our awareness and compassion through mindfulness, and by deepening our connection with nature, we can more easily invite gratitude into our hearts and lives.
Cultivating gratitude helps us:
Shift perspective from scarcity to abundance
Build resilience during stressful or uncertain times
Strengthen relationships and foster compassion
Discover joy in the simple moments of daily life
Feel a deeper sense of belonging and reverence through connection with nature
Research has shown that people who regularly practice gratitude report higher levels of positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, and even have stronger immune systems.
