About Your Teacher

Hi, I’m Jennifer Sigrest, a mindfulness meditation teacher and licensed professional counselor with a passion for helping people find resilience, balance, and authenticity in their lives. While much of my work through Lotus Place Counseling focuses on supporting individuals dealing with trauma and anxiety, I’ve come to realize how transformative mindfulness practices can be for anyone seeking greater well-being and connection to their true self.

Why Mindfulness

Mindfulness has been profoundly transformative in my own life. During a particularly challenging time, mindfulness meditation became my anchor, helping me navigate the overwhelming stress and emotions of a major life transition. It allowed me to reconnect with my inner wisdom, stay true to myself, and ultimately emerge into a life of greater clarity and purpose. That personal journey is why I’m so passionate about sharing these practices with others.

My Training

I’ve had the privilege of training as a certified mindfulness meditation teacher under renowned teachers Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, deepening my understanding of how mindfulness can support us through life’s challenges and guide us toward living with greater meaning and purpose.

The Lotus Place

I created The Lotus Place as a dedicated space for these teachings, separate from my counseling work, to provide offerings that nurture mindful well-being. Whether through self-paced courses, live events, retreats, or a supportive community, my goal is to help you find the tools and time you need to reconnect with your authentic self and navigate life’s ups and downs with more ease and intention.

Affinity for Nature

When I’m not teaching or counseling, you can often find me outdoors. I live in the Deep South, where I enjoy year-round access to nature. As a volunteer Master Naturalist, I have a particular interest in water quality and the interconnectedness of the natural world—a reminder of the mindfulness lessons we can learn by observing the rhythms of nature.
